Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough

BHE01Only one word can describe Sarah Pinborough’s book Behind Her Eyes. Unpredictable. In the beginning it took me a little while to really get into it (mainly because it takes place in London and I was thrown off by some of the phrases they use) but once you’re in you won’t be able to put it down. With every turned page it seems like you know what will happen next. Trust me, you have no idea what’s coming.

The book starts with single mother Louise who meets her very own McDreamy (David) in a bar. But after a steamy kiss he bolts faster than Cinderella at midnight. Even though she’s concerned by David’s sudden exit, Louise is still on cloud nine when she goes into work on Monday only to have her high ruined by her new boss, David. That’s right, McDreamy from the bar is her boss. Nothing can be worse than that, right? WRONG!! On top of knowing that you’ve sucked face with your now boss, he’s married too! So like any mature adult who has a conscience, Louise tried to keep it professional. But we all know how that usually works out (case in point: Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy).BHE02

So once Louise thought nothing else could possibly happen she bumps into Adele, the Wife! With Adele being new to town and needing a friend she took to Louise (or more like not taking no for an answer). As their friendship grows Louise starts to learn more about David and Adele’s marriage along with their secrets and starts to question her own relationship between the two.
Behind Her Eyes will have you guessing who the real villain is until the very last page.
